Betty Jo Fults, of Nederland, Texas, passed away peacefully May 19, 2025, at Bonne Vie Care Center in Port Arthur, Texas, at the age of 94. She lived a full life rich in love, family, and service.
Born in Port Neches, Texas, on October 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Ramie Charles Collins and Bonnie O’Bannon Collins. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church Nederland, Betty served as a teacher for young children for many years. Betty will remain in the hearts of all who knew her and will be forever celebrated for the love she shared and the lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her husband. James H Fults; son, William (Billy) Wayne Fults, Ret.Lt.Col.; parents, Ramie and Bonnie Collins; sister, Shirley Collins Miller; brother, Phillip Collins; mother-in-law, Christine Bush Fults Sears; fathers-in-law, Arlon Fults and Norman E (Sebo) Sears.
She is survived by her children, Michael Fults and wife Cindy of Center, TX, James Collins Fults and wife, Robin of Porter, TX, and Jodie Fults Bass of Nederland, TX; and daughter-in-law, Casey Mallett Fults of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jordan Fults and wife, Marnae of Montgomery, TX, Justin Fults and wife, Kyndall of Schertz, TX, Joel Fults and wife, Megan of Austin, TX, Dr. Will Fults and wife, Marsha of Nederland, TX, Brandon Fults and wife, Mandy of Liberty Hill, TX, Zachary Bass and wife, Lindsey of Lumberton, TX, Cameron Bass and wife, Anahy of Nederland, TX, Alex Bass and wife, Gabby of Nederland, Caleigh Fults of Bastrop, TX, and Courtney Fults and Candace Fults of San Marcus, TX. Also 15 great grandchildren, Parker Fults, Hunter Fults, Mallory Fults, Owen Fults, Olivia Fults, Baker Wayne Fults, Brilynn Fults, Kate Fults, Spencer Fults, Walker Fults, Jillian Fults, Marcus Barton, Kinley Bass, Samuel Bass, Scarlett Bass and a great granddaughter Bass due in June; as well as a sister-in-Law, Lajaunda Williams and husband, Harry; nieces, Tiffany Dillard and Kayla Montgomery; great niece, Callie Sattler; and many other loving family and friends.
We would like to thank the staff of Altus Hospice, Bonne Vie Care Center, and Heart to Heart Hospice for their special love and care during her time of need.
At her request there will not be a formal service however a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Honor of Betty may be made to First Baptist Church Nederland’s Children’s Department where a memorial has been set up.
