David Robert “Bob” Easley (March 1, 1944 – January 12, 2026)
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, loving brother, uncle and friend, David Robert Easley, known by all as Bob, passed away in Orange, Texas on Monday, January 12, 2026. Bob was born at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on March1, 1944 to Jacqueline Gwendolyn “Jackie” and James Wesley “J.W.” Easley, Sr, who cherished him. Bob spent most of his life in Orange where his parents settled in 1947. Growing up he played baseball, was a scout, served as youth acolyte at St. Paul’s every Sunday, played saxophone and was an avid mechanic. Bob brought home spare parts to build his first motorcycle as a teen, escalating his love for engines, cars, and motorcycles. As much as he loved rebuilding engines, he had the same love purchasing his Harley Davidson that he revved up for the last time two days before passing. He was a competitive bowler as well as an accomplished expert shooter traveling all over competing in Action Shooting.
Bob graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1962. Before completing his college studies, Bob left school to serve in the United States Army as a medic stationed in Thailand where he treated illnesses, injuries, and supported all branches at multiple USAF bases. Upon completing his service, Bob continued his studies at Stephen F. Austin University, graduating with a major in Biology. Bob returned home to Orange, Texas after graduation where he worked as a loyal employee at Owens-Illinois, later Temple-Inland, until retirement.
Bob loved the Lord. His life changed dramatically after a transformation in Christ. He started dating then married Linda who he loved more than the world. Linda brought joy and love to Bob that was unmatched. They spent every moment caring for each other, enjoyed traveling together, eating meals together, telling stories, and of course Disney World – Bob and Linda were kids at heart and they were never apart. Bob has longed to be with Linda since the day she passed, and they are now together again in God’s Glory.
Bob is preceded in death by his treasured wife, Linda Burrow Easley; his parents, Jackie and J.W. Easley, Sr.; parents-in-law, Haley and Billy Burrow, Sr.; brother, James Wesley “Jim” Easley, Jr. and Jim’s wife Wanda Easley; brother-in-law, John A. Pizzitola, Sr.; Bob is survived by daughter, Amanda Lee Frizzell and husband Matt; grandchildren, Cynthia Ann Rangel and Olivia Marie Rangel; sister, Peggy Pizzitola; brother-in-law, Billy Burrow Jr. and wife Pam, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Many thanks to Pam and Billy Burrow for their selfless care and support for Bob when he needed them most. A private memorial honoring Bob will take place with family at a future date.
