Kimberly Sue “Kim” Gordon
Kimberly Sue “Kim” Gordon, 53, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Beaumont.
Born in Houston, Texas, on August 29, 1972, she was the daughter of Tim Johnson and Laura Pousson Johnson. Kim was a passionate individual whose spirit shone brightly in everything she pursued. Being an avid reader from a small child, Kim found joy and knowledge between the pages of books, immersing herself in stories that sparked her imagination and inspired her daily life. Her generous nature reflected her ability to empathize with others, often speaking her mind with sincerity and kindness. Kim was Salutatorian of her Lamar University Port Arthur graduating class. She worked as a paralegal, and being an expert in her field, she taught as an Adjunct Professor at Lamar Institute of Technology. Later, Kim worked as a substitute teacher at Nederland I.S.D. Kim was admired for her wholehearted commitment, especially as a homemaker, where she took pride in mastering its skills. Historically, Kim famously was not known for her domestic prowess often having the fire department come out while cooking the Thanksgiving turkey. Kim had a very strong desire to overcome her domestic engineering shortcomings and eventually, with lots of practice, became a gourmet cook and great homemaker. Kim and Alex were the foster parents of seven children. Her love knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent nurturing her household and the relationships within it. Kim was also a devoted member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Kimberly "Kim" Sue Gordon will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, honesty, and eagerness to give will resonate in the hearts of many for years to come.
