Melissa Kay Hollie Givens

Melissa Kay Hollie Givens, 58, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at her home in Orange.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at First Pentecostal Church of Starks, 225 Highway 109 South, Starks, Louisiana, 70661.

Visitation time will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at First Pentecostal Church of Starks.

Born in Vinton, Louisiana, on March 29, 1967, she was the daughter of Euell “Bully” Simon and Roxene Hollie Simon. Melissa loved spending her time by the water, whether it was fishing, enjoying a day at the beach, or simply soaking up the sun. As a member of the American Legion Post 29 in Orange, she connected with her community and cherished the friendships she made there. Her free spirit and love for life will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Melissa will be greatly missed but leaves behind memories filled with laughter and warmth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Lester Givens; her mother, Roxene Hollie Simon; and her grandparents, Floyd Hollie and Madge Johnson Hollie.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Amber Nix, and Ronnie “Boy” Anglin and wife, Ashley; her grandchildren, Eli Nix, Ali Nix, Raeleigh Anglin, Hunter Anglin, River Anglin, and Brier Anglin; her father, Euell “Bully” Simon; her siblings, Carroll “Bubba” Hyatt, Johnny Ray Simon and wife, Nichole, Misty Cole and husband, Tim, and Adeanna Simon; the father of her children, Ronald Anglin, Sr.; her beloved dog, Kilo; and numerous other loving family and friends.
