Michelle Ann Schirmer

Michelle Ann Schirmer, 67, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 23, 2025, at home.

Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on March 24, 1958, she was the daughter of Ernest D. Groff, Jr. and Margaret A. Robinson (Harris). Known affectionately as “Mikki” or “Aunt Mikki” to her family and friends, she was a kind and soul who touched the lives of many. Mikki was absolutely obsessed with her grandchildren. She took every chance she could to spend time with them, whether that meant shopping, playing, or simply doting on them. She made her home a warm and welcoming space, and it quickly became the place to be for family gatherings, filled with laughter and love. Aside from her love for her grandchildren, Mikki had a talent for crafting. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and crocheting, often creating beautiful pieces that showcased her generous spirit and creativity. One of her proudest accomplishments was her striking black and caramel Camaro from the 1980s, adorned with the name “Mikki” painted down the side. This car was a true reflection of her vibrant personality and joyful approach to life. Mikki’s warm heart and willingness to help others were features that stood out throughout her life. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Dean Raymond Schirmer (March 13, 2025); and parents, Ernest Gross, Jr. and Margaret Robinson.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine “Katy” Sanchez and husband Alex; son, Lawerence Dean Sanchez; grandchildren, Izabella Sanchez, Mason Sanchez, and Elena Sanchez; and other loving family and friends.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes in Orange.
