Robert Arnold Osborne
August 12, 1944 – February 4, 2026
Robert Arnold Osborne, 81, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. Born on August 12, 1944, Robert lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Serving from 1962 to 1966, he dedicated 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days to military service. As a rifleman, Robert embodied the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment. His service was a source of great pride and reflected the discipline, resilience, and sense of duty that defined his character throughout his life. Following his military service, Robert built a long and dedicated career at the Texaco Refinery, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 2001. His strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were evident throughout his years of service. Beyond his career, Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was known for his steady presence, hardworking nature, and quiet kindness. Family meant everything to him, and he found his greatest joy in the time spent with those he loved. He fiercely loved his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Robert enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing for bass. He also loved teaching children how to fish, patiently sharing his knowledge and creating memories that many will cherish. He shared a special bond with Price English, spending many years with him while he was growing up and remaining an important part of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dianne Chardin Osborne; his daughter, Tina Dominy and her husband Jason, and their children Jacob, Jaimie, and Jalen; his son, Brent Rayls and his wife Shauna, and their children Kymberly, Kyleigh, and Kaden; his grandchildren Cory and Lindsey Weber; his brother Troy Osborne and his wife Candi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Osborne; his mother, Opal Osborne; his sister, Evelyn Osborne; his brothers, Michael Osborne Sr. and Roger Osborne; and his daughter, Terri Rene Osborne.
A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at Abundant Life Sanctuary, located at 2301 W Parkway, Groves, Texas, on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and honor his memory.
Robert’s life was defined by service, hard work, and love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the values he instilled will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The memories he created on the water—teaching children to fish and sharing the quiet beauty of the outdoors—will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
Once a Marine, always a Marine.
Semper Fidelis.
