Shirley June Bills

Shirley June Bills, AKA “Candy Nanny” crossed over in the early hours of January 5th at the age of 90. She was born on August,1935 in Alabama and spent the later part of her life in Texas.

As a testament to her generation, Shirley endured the harsh aspects of the Great Depression with perseverance and moxie. Shirley met and married the love of her life at the age of 18 and went on to become a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid dog lover, took pride in keeping her family’s bellies full, and always made time for Wheel-of-Fortune.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Eugene Bills, and her sister, Dora McKinney.

She is survived by her two children Diana Louise (Bills) Breaux and Fredrick Duane Bills, her grandchildren, Daniel Frederick Cox (Rachel), Teddy Joseph Breaux (Bree), and James Morgan (Rachell), as well as her great-grandchildren, Alexis McKenzie Breaux, and Zachary Warren Villafano.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be sent to the St. Vincent De Paul at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange, Texas.
