Christina Nicole "Christy" Alford Speight, age 52, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by the love of her husband, John, and her family.
Born on October 4, 1973, in Smithfield, North Carolina, Christy was the daughter of Barry Alford and the late Joyce Elaine Alford. She was also lovingly supported by her stepmother, Barbara Alford. Christy was raised alongside her sisters at the Oxford Orphanage in Oxford, North Carolina, where they formed an unbreakable bond and created memories that would last a lifetime.
Christy was a beautiful woman with a fiery spirit and a passionate heart. She spoke her mind, stood up for what she believed in, and approached life with honesty and determination. Those who knew her appreciated her strength, her authenticity, and her unwavering devotion to the people she loved.
A talented athlete, Christy had a passion for soccer and was an exceptional player. Her competitive nature, determination, and love of the game were among the qualities that made her stand out.
On October 12, 1991, Christy married the love of her life, John Speight. Together they shared a deep and enduring love that carried them through more than three decades of marriage. They spent many wonderful years together in Tarboro, North Carolina. Through life's joys and challenges, John remained her devoted partner and best friend, and their love story was a source of strength and happiness throughout her life.
Christy is survived by her husband, John Speight; her daughters, Chelsey Speight and Olivia Speight; her grandchildren, Nathan Briggs, Makenna Whitfield, Noah Whitfield, and Alaina Whitfield; her father, Barry Alford; her stepmother, Barbara Alford; and her sisters, Amy Anderson, Shelley Alford, and Priscilla Adcock. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Elaine Alford.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Christy will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
