It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis Michael Amason II, 55, of Hamshire, Texas. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 15, 2025. Michael will be fondly remembered as a father, son, brother and friend. Michael was born on January 16, 1969, and spent his childhood years in Hamshire, Texas. He also enjoyed spending many summers in Arkansas with his grandparents. Michael attended Hamshire-Fannett Elementary, Middle School, and High School. He loved music and was a drummer in the Hamshire-Fannett band. His love for music continued, and he added cooking to the list of activities he enjoyed.

After graduating from high school, Michael began his career in the healthcare community by receiving his EMS License from Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He really found his passion for helping others while serving in this capacity, and continued his education by receiving his Paramedic License from Houston Community College. After his successful service as a paramedic, he furthered his knowledge and skill by pursuing and earning his RN Nursing License from Regents College. Michael excelled as an RN, and after serving in various RN positions, decided to specialize and hone in on his skills as an ER Flight nurse. His passion to help others led him to an impressive history in his service in healthcare.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis I. and Estelle Amason, and grandparents Ace Lee and Bertie Honley.

Michael is survived by his loving family, including his son, Adam Michael Amason of Austin, who was the joy of his life, his parents, Mike and Annie Amason, and his brother, David Amason, all of Hamshire, Texas, his aunt and uncle, Virginia and Ace Lee Honley of Sibley, Louisiana, his cousins, Susan and Ricky Hunter, Sharon and Mike Meegeehee and other cousins.
