Darryll Blount

Darryll was a man who lived life with heart, humor, and a spirit that drew people in wherever he went. He loved the open road and spent many joyful days riding his motorcycle, especially on long trips to Ruidoso with his wife, Jennifer, and his mother‑in‑law, Helen. Those trips were some of his happiest moments—surrounded by the rumble of bikes, the beauty of the mountains, and the company of his closest friends. He enjoyed judging motorcycles, talking shop, and sharing laughs with his biker community, who meant so much to him.

For more than 30 years, Darryll proudly owned and operated Blounts Automotive in West Orange. His shop wasn’t just a business—it was a place where he built friendships, helped neighbors, and earned the trust of an entire community. His dedication, honesty, and skill made him a respected figure in the area.

Darryll served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his strong work ethic and deep sense of loyalty. He carried those values throughout his life, especially in the way he cared for his family. He loved them fiercely, including his pets, who were always treated like part of the family.

To the children who knew him as “Poppi,” Darryll was a source of joy, fun, and unconditional love. He had a special way of making every child feel important, and he never missed a chance to spoil them with kindness and attention.

Darryll was truly one of a kind—warm, generous, and unforgettable. His presence brought light to every room, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
