Dean Raymond Schirmer, 70 of Orange Texas passed away on March 13, 2025. Dean was an extraordinary man with many amazing talents. Dean was originally from St Louis, Missouri but found Orange to be his home many years ago to be close to the water, where, the weather was always warm and the fish were always biting. He was well known for his amazing carpentry work and was a jack of all trades. Although Dean loved working hard, he loved his family so much more. He worked endlessly to provide and give his family a life of comfort. His children were his greatest accomplishment but you see these grandbabies came along and stole his heart all over again. In the most grandpa fashion, he spoiled his babies with anything they asked for. He was a very simple, gracious and humble man, something I feel we could all learn from Dean. Those left to cherish his memories are wife, Michelle Ann Schirmer; daughter Katherine (Katy) Sanchez husband Alex; son Lawrence (Lance) Schirmer; brother David Schirmer and sisters Dawn Fink, Debby Torretti, Nephew Nick Torretti. Last but not least his amazing, beautiful and talented grandchildren; Izabella, Mason and Elena Sanchez. Dean is proceeded in death by parents Lawrence and Katherine Schirmer. We would like to leave one last thing; a bit of advice We know he'd want us to share. Live each day to the fullest, work hard, love harder and be grateful for all the good and bad! You've only got one life to live, make it count. There will be a celebration of life at a later time. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that you send a donation to the American Heart Association in his name or to the Bridge City Fishing team to help support future fishers reach their dreams.

I worked with Dean as helper for years. He worked harder than anybody I have ever met. He was super intelligent and had an impressive vocabulary. More than all of that, he was one helluva friend.
