Josie Self

Josie Self, 57, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 2, 2024, at home. 

Born in Carrizo Springs, Texas, on October 13, 1966, she was the daughter of Juan Espinoza and Delfina Uvalle. Josie was a remarkable woman whose life touched many hearts and souls. Josie will forever be remembered as a wonderful cook whose dishes brought joy to all who tasted them, especially her peach cobbler. Her culinary skills were only surpassed by her unwavering love for her family. Her grandson held a special place in her heart and was truly her pride and joy. A faithful woman, Josie's belief in God was a guiding light that helped her navigate through the toughest of times. She found solace and strength in reading the Bible daily, drawing wisdom and comfort from its pages. n this time of loss, let us remember Josie not with sadness but with gratitude for having known such a kind and loving soul. May her spirit live on in the memories we shared with her. Your legacy of love and faith will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew you.

She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Espinoza.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Ray Self; mother, Delfina Uvalle; son, Joseph Self; daughter, Rachael Self; and grandson, Finley Townsend.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes in Orange.
