Thomas Renard Nixon

Thomas Renard Nixon, 64, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be posted at a later date.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on April 22, 1960, he was the son of Thomas Mann Nixon and Louanna Francis Nixon. A man of steadfast spirit and determination, Thomas's life was marked by his profound love for family, friends, and a multitude of passions that enriched both his life and the lives of those around him. A proud graduate of Hebert High School, Class of 1978, Thomas carried the values instilled in him throughout his youth into adulthood. He had a deep love for the outdoors, often finding joy while fishing—a pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life’s simple pleasures. In addition to his love for fishing, he had a remarkable skill in welding, a craft that allowed him to showcase his creativity and craftsmanship. Thomas's journey through life was shaped by the resilience he displayed in overcoming challenges. As a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he embraced sobriety with unwavering commitment for over 40 years. His triumph over his struggles enabled him to become a counselor, guiding others on their paths to recovery. His experience provided him with unique insights that he generously shared, touching the lives of many and becoming a beacon of hope within his community. Deeply rooted in his Catholic faith, Thomas found strength and guidance through his spirituality. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, informing his values and influencing his loving interactions with others. As we remember Thomas Renard Nixon, let us celebrate a life well-lived—his legacy of resilience, compassion, and faith will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Louanna Nixon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna Nixon; his children, Thomisha Nixon, Ken Lambert, Amber Wykoff, and Erica Lambert; his grandchildren, Jim, Ozzie, Rhys, Zeth, Kennlee, Ezra, Gabriel, and Allison; his sisters, Sandra Johnson, and Lisa Monette; his brother, Michael Nixon; and numerous other loving family members and friends,

To the family of Thomas Nixon, we are so sorry for your loss. Thomas and my husband Matt grew up together and lived down the street from each other. I still remember Nick (that's what we called him back in the day) being with Matt in 1978 when I introduced them to my parents. When my mother heard his name she said (everybody say it with me), "Boy I know your people, I know both of your parents!" Needless to say, its been a very long time, over 43 years ago. I'm sure that as you remember Thomas there will be tears because you miss him so much and tears from laughing so hard from being Nick! God Bless you all. Matthew and Farrell Tezeno.

Nick, Your laughter and smile was only eclipsed by your purpose to help others. Knowing you as my classmate and friend was a blessing. Only you could win over my Mom. Rest in peace.

Sending my condolences to the family. Although he had plenty of flaws as so many of us do, he still has a passion for helping others who want to help themselves. I'm just glad I met him at a time that was most important in my life.
